Alison Gordon LM, CPM, LC

Alison Gordon LM, CPMAlison began her work in mother/baby care first as a lactation educator in 1997, and also as a childbirth educator trained through The Bradley Method. She became a DONA certified doula in 2000. Alison first started her traditional apprenticeship as a student midwife in 2005 and received her state license in 2009. Alison has provided successful lactation support and education for hundreds of families, first teaching early latching techniques in the first hours and days after birth, and continuing on supporting through full-term breastfeeding.

Our philosophy is that supporting and empowering parents in the care and feeding of their child contributes to a healthy family dynamic. Our goal is to help families reach their breastfeeding goals. We believe that the majority of mothers have the ability to successfully breastfeed for as long as is mutually desired by both mother and child, and we are happy to help them reach those goals. When circumstances make that difficult, we approach this situation with gentleness and compassion and can work together with the family to make informed choices for their child.
